About Mark

Me

My love for photography began in 1999, when my father gave me a hand-me-down 35mm SLR to play with. From that moment I was hooked. Starting out with photojournalism and portraits, I eventually found a niche in nighttime architecture photography, which I pursued across various continents. Having expanded my skills and knowledge on an amateur and semi-pro level for close to 10 years, I finally decided in 2009 to try and make it as a full-time career photographer.

Since moving to the Philippines in 2009, I have had the chance to work with various clients on editorial, commercial and commissioned assignments. I have slightly shifted my specialization to architecture in general, and unifying modern interior and exterior design with both cutting-edge and classic fashion.

In October of 2009, I co-founded - along with my fiancée Marvie Yap and a few friends - Anything For the Shot, a full-service photography company, assembling talents within the disciplines of make-up artistry and styling, and merging them with experienced and skilled photographers.

Me

In 2011 I was fortunate and thrilled to see my first cover publications distributed nationally on one of the most content-rich and classy magazines in the country, Monday Magazine. Having worked with them for several issues basically since their inception, this was a satisfying highlight of my still young career.

Despite having over a decade of experience in 35mm and digital photography, I still find myself learning new skills, techniques and ways of seeing the world on a constant basis. Although I am specialized in the fields of fashion and architecture, I still fully enjoy taking part in most of the vast variety of photography genres; from nature, to photojournalism, to events and conceptual.

If you are interested in getting in touch with me regarding assignments (commissioned, editorial or commercial) or are interested in purchasing a print, feel free to contact me.

About The Site

Although it focuses on my current specializations in the field of photography, this website aims to showcase a wide variety of the different genres and styles in which I have been active. The books are categorized by genre, and since some of my works exist in between or across multiple genres, their images will appear more than once in my gallery.
